To inspire motivated language learners to become confident and self actualized participants in their learning journey
We achieve this by focusing on student choice, giving students attainable goals, and highlighting specific learner skill outcomes.
Welcome learners!
No matter how good we are we have the ability to improve. Improvement starts with motivation and passion to get better, gets coupled with foresight and understanding, and is tested through experiences. This iterative or repeated process is the simple way by which most people become better. Imagine your favorite activity or hobby. I’d hazard the guess this is how you improved. It probably started with an interest to learn, then you set a goal for what specifically you wanted to learn (maybe a trick, song, or skill), And lastly you practiced with your goal in mind. Considering this, our process, and my philosophy, is summed up in two phrases that I have used since the beginning of my career in 2008. “You’re doing it wrong. Do it better.” and “Always look forward.”
My career is one of my favorite activities and, for this reason, I inexhaustibly seek out the best educational practices. I look for those practices are currently known to be the best, but also for those that are, or becoming, common features in a modern technically driven society. Right now, our access to ever-increasing and ever-improving tools to bring knowledge and learning to a students fingertips leaves teachers at a crossroads.
With so many learning tools and with so much knowledge in our pockets and on our laptops, an educator is no longer a “sage on a stage” here to tell you what is right or wrong. Instead, there is different path where educators are instead guides, navigators, or coaches for learners whose goal is to help them reach their potential. To that end there are a variety of free and paid content on our Resources page.
As guides and coaches, our goals are firmly rooted in our learners’ goals. We focus on the skills you need to identify new resources, develop new approaches, consider other or additional options, and, ultimately, help you reach the goals that are important to you.
My collaborative associates and I look forward to becoming your guide, mentor, coach and navigator throughout this process of discovery. No matter if your goals rely on skills to become your best self, improve your studies, or understand your social or societal landscape, we aim to help you become your best educated self in all ways.
Always Looking Forward,
Andrew Tripoli
